Juniors Street Smart – Learning to Stay Safe on the Roads
The Juniors Street Smart program was developed to help children and young people in our Polish community learn how to stay safe as pedestrians, cyclists, and future road users.
Running from June 2024 to June 2025, the project included 41 weekly sessions held at our school, covering six key topics: pedestrians, bicycles, scooters, e-bikes, e-rideables, and public transport.

Through hands-on activities, games, quizzes, and excursions, students explored how to make smart and safe choices when walking, riding, or travelling.
Highlights included visits to the Constable Care Safety School in Maylands and an interactive road safety workshop delivered by Constable Care experts at our school in October.
Each session focused on practical skills such as recognising road signs, crossing safely, wearing helmets correctly, and understanding how speed affects safety. Students also created their own safety posters and participated in the “Road Signs Revision” quiz to test their knowledge.
To reinforce the learning, the school produced a range of fun educational materials and merchandise — including reflective wristbands, stickers, posters, and “I’m Street Smart” badges — all promoting the key message:
Be seen. Be safe. Be smart.
This project was proudly supported and funded by the Road Safety Commission of Western Australia.
Thanks to this support, our school was able to deliver high-quality, engaging learning activities that helped students build lifelong road safety habits and share these messages within their families and community.
